Nedbank MobiMoney Wallet
Nedbank MobiMoney is a mobile-based wallet that uses your valid cellphone number as a store of value and allows you to perform the below transactions:
- Send Money
- Buy airtime
- Buy Electricity
- Cardless withdrawals
MobiMoney is easy to open, with no queuing or documents to fill out. All you need is your phone and valid national ID to register. Your cellphone number becomes your Nedbank account number so that you can bank anytime, anywhere.
Most importantly, your money will be safe as your MobiMoney wallet has a PIN.
To open your MobiMoney wallet and register with Nedbank, simply dial *120*141# and follow the prompts. It’s that simple!
Who can use MobiMoney
- Anyone who receives a Send money transaction can register for a MobiMoney wallet to store the funds they’ve received for ongoing use.
- To register, anyone, including clients that already have other accounts with Nedbank, can simply dial *120*141#
- Once registered, Nedbank clients will have their existing profiles automatically linked.
MobiMoney features
1. Pay zero monthly management fees.
2. Pay fees only on the transactions made.
3. Send or receive money to or from any cellphone number.
4. Buy prepaid airtime or electricity.
5. View your MobiMoney transaction statement
6. Withdraw cash from the MobiMoney wallet at any Nedbank ATM.
7. Top up your MobiMoney wallets by transferring funds from your bank account.
8. Keep your money safe with a PIN on the MobiMoney wallet.
9. Move funds from MobiMoney to your bank account.
10. Contact the bank to block Send money funds that were incorrectly received from a wallet.
11. Check your MobiMoney balance.
Thresholds
Dormancy period: 2 years (A MobiMoney wallet becomes dormant if there has been no activity on it for more than 2 consecutive years.)
